Yury Tarler
Yury Tarler, an American Artist, resides in New York, works in various mediums, including oil, watercolor, graphics, ceramics and interior design.
Yury was born in 1965 in St. Petersburg, former USSR, where he graduated from the State Academy of Arts with degrees in architecture and painting. His works are displayed in numerous galleries throughout the country, along with private collections.
Before settling in New York, the artist worked in Italy, on restauration of old masters in few museums. One of the highlights of his life was when he was commissioned to paint a full figure, 4ft by 6ft portrait of Pope John Paul II, which he brilliantly completed in short time and presented it to His Holiness himself at the Vatican Mission in New York on October 5, 1995.
Yury Tarler continues exploring new forms of art, combining traditional realistic style with symbolism, fantasy with figurative physics. At the first look you see real objects of life, but actually this is an illusion of reality that is influenced by the spectator’s
fascination and imagery. While destroying stereotypes of Russian School traditions, aesthetics is the reason he chooses realistic art, in order to mix reality and fantasy.
