M. Kathleen Warren

All her life, Kathleen has been drawn to narratives and metaphors, both to stories of people and to visual stories in her art.

After decades of photographing, the camera became her way to see the world and she incorporates that photographic vision into her photo-encaustic work. This unique blend of photography and encaustic wax, used while molten, combines elements into hand-crafted pieces with layers, textures, and narrative. Using this mixed-media technique, Kathleen feels she can better express the story or movement before her.

After she retired from teaching in higher education, she began to teach art classes where her passion is to help students get the results they desire rather than to simply build skills.

The artist enjoys sharing her artwork; she is currently represented in a regional gallery, and she participates in both local and national art associations. She exhibits her work in solo shows regionally as well as at local, regional, and national art shows where she has received numerous awards, and her work is published nationally as well as internationally.
