Family Tree: Five-Generation Art Exhibition A heartfelt showcase celebrating five generations of artists from Barbara Bassett’s family. This special exhibition features the work of Barbara Bassett along with artworks by her mom, uncle, children, and grandchildren — a beautiful multi-generational artistic legacy.

At just 16, Barbara studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. She later trained in New York at Pratt Institute and the Art Students League. After returning to Winter Park, Florida, she began teaching young students from her home studio, known as the Art Workshop. For over 60 years, Barbara dedicated her life to nurturing young artists, even showing her students’ work at the very first Winter Park Arts Festival.

A brilliant and generous artist and teacher, Barbara poured her heart into her students while continuing to create beautiful work herself — especially in oils.…
